You Are Not Alone

Common Does Not Mean Something You Have to Live With

Millions of people quietly manage bladder leakage, pelvic pain, or a body that has not felt right since childbirth. Many were told it is a normal part of aging or of being a parent. It is common, but it is not something you simply have to accept.

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles, and like any muscles they can be weak, tight, uncoordinated, or irritated. A pelvic health physical therapist evaluates how yours are working and treats the specific problem, with the same rigor we bring to a knee or a shoulder, and with complete privacy.

Your first visit is a conversation and an evaluation at the pace you are comfortable with. Nothing happens without your understanding and consent, and every step is explained before it happens.

What to Expect

Care Built on Privacy, Consent, and Clear Explanations

A private conversation first

Your first visit starts with your history and your goals. You decide the pace, and your therapist explains every step before it happens.

A specific diagnosis

Weak, tight, and uncoordinated pelvic floor muscles are treated differently. Your evaluation identifies which applies to you, so the plan actually fits.

A plan you control

Treatment combines guided exercise, hands-on techniques where appropriate, and home strategies. Female therapists are available on request.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see a female therapist?

Yes. Female pelvic health therapists are available; tell us your preference when you book and we will match you accordingly.

Is pelvic floor therapy only for women?

No. Men experience pelvic floor problems too, including pelvic pain, leakage, and post-surgical issues, and pelvic floor therapy is an evidence-supported treatment for them as well.

What should I expect at the first pelvic floor visit?

A private conversation about your history and goals, followed by an evaluation at the pace you are comfortable with. Your therapist explains every step first and nothing happens without your consent. You will leave with a clear explanation and a plan.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start?

In most cases, no. New York's Direct Access law lets you begin physical therapy without a physician referral for up to 10 visits or 30 days. We confirm the details for your specific insurance plan when you book.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are in-network with most major insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, and no-fault. Share your details and we verify your coverage before your first visit.

How much does physical therapy cost?

For most patients, care is covered by insurance and you pay only your plan's copay, if any. We verify your benefits before your first visit and tell you exactly what to expect, with no surprise bills.

How long is each visit, and how many will I need?

Most visits run 40 to 60 minutes. The number of visits depends on your condition and goals; your therapist gives you a clear plan and timeline at your evaluation and updates it as you progress.
